Hage Geingob Stadion
PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The popular NAU Agribraai national barbeque competition is coming to Windhoek! This annual event will be hosted in Windhoek 29 and 30 March 2019 subsequently won by Kaiser Street Farmers’ Association earlier this year at event in Gobabis.
The last time this prestigious event was held in the capital, was in 2000. Kaiser Street also hosted the event in 1993. The first NAU Agribraai competition was held in 1980. Since then it has become the flagship event on the agricultural calendar in Namibia. It takes place under the umbrella of the Namibia Agricultural Union.
The Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium will be home to a two day festival that bring music stars - Bok van Blerk, Robbie Wessels, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Die Campbells and Die Broers to Windhoek. Popular local stars will add to the entertainment.
Twenty farmer’s association teams and twenty social teams from all over Namibia will battle it out on the fire... which are a prerequisite for all the cooks. The winning farmers’ association team will walk away with N$40 000 and a multitude of other prizes. Entry forms will be available soon.
The judging panel will be headed by well-known Namibian food-guru Sanet Prinsloo.
Food stalls offering different mouthwatering dishes, braaivleis included and beer tents will cater for the gourmet needs of the expected thousands of visitors.
The main sponsors will once again be Namib Mills, Namib Poultry, Feedmaster and Tafel Lager.
More stalls will be available to businesses and entrepreneurs to advertise their products and/or services. We believe this is a great opportunity to target a captive market. This event will also offer exposure to media and live radio broadcast.
